Bringing people together in Leeds
The Trust’s £3,000 grant to Caring Together in Woodhouse & Little London contributed to the Winter Support & Community Wellbeing Programme, ensuring more than 400 vulnerable, older residents could access social, physical, and practical support during winter. The charity says: “The flexibility of the grant was particularly valuable and it allowed us to adapt activities and support to meet emerging needs during the winter months. The experience of working with the Sir George Martin Trust was highly supportive, enabling, and impactful, and we would welcome the opportunity to collaborate again in the future.”

Supporting vulnerable adults in Kirklees
Dewsbury Community Outreach is a faith-based charity which helps the vulnerable and less fortunate in their community by providing practical, emotional and spiritual support in a loving and caring environment. The founder shared: “Our old boiler had reached the end of its life and needed to be replaced. The £3,000 grant enabled us to continue providing our hot meals and shower facility which many of our beneficiaries rely on to get through the week. The Trust has been exceptional to work with and the process is very friendly and straightforward compared to other funders.”

LGBTQIA+ youth engagement across Calderdale
Happy Valley Pride is an award-winning, LGBTQIA+ led and community-driven arts charity. “The Trust’s £3,000 grant allowed us to access 15 schools in Calderdale and reach more than 2,500 young people through our educational programme. The school sessions promote a more positive sense of self for young people to help to eliminate the bases of bullying in peer groups whilst also offering a foundation for greater inclusivity and representation for all identities.”

Breaking down barriers for all to play tennis
Integration plays a pivotal role in creating true accessibility and inclusivity within tennis. The Trust gave £5,000 for three years to Leeds-based Breaking Barriers Tennis Association (BBTA) which enables children from underrepresented communities across West Yorkshire to join established, local tennis programmes. The Founder & Chair said: “As a relatively new organisation we have been able to lean into the expertise of the Trust through their Trust Manager which has saved us a lot of time, and potential mistakes, as we navigate the growth of the organisation and our delivery of programmes.”

Piano playing comes to Bradford streets
Leeds International Piano Competition brings its wonderful Piano Trail to the streets of Leeds and Bradford. “The Sir George Martin Trust grant enabled us to continue turning public places into creative spaces across our cities, giving people of all ages and backgrounds opportunities to explore and share their own creativity. The funds supported our public and free to access activities and events on the Leeds and Bradford Piano Trails, which included Monthly Days of Play across the 15 pianos, with performances by a wide variety of local musicians including British Youth Music Theatre and University of Leeds.”

Lifeline for Wakefield SEND children & families
Wakefield-based Kidz Aware, which now supports families across West Yorkshire says: "This £5,000 grant has been a game-changer for our charity and the families we serve. Previously, we struggled with outreach. By using the funding to hire a social media specialist, we’ve vastly expanded our reach and connected with many more vulnerable families in need of long-term support. It has also unlocked new organisational partnerships, maximising our collective impact and benefiting families across the board."
