A key part of the Sir George Martin Trust’s work as a relational grantmaker are my visits to meet new applicants to the Trust. We find out so much more from talking to charity teams than can be written in an application form and I aim to share knowledge which I have learnt from other local charities and my Yorkshire Funders’ work. This might be about governance, fundraising or communications. I loved my recent visit to Skippko Arts in Leeds, meeting the two long-standing members of staff and the members of the Monthly Art Group. For many, the sessions are the only time they get out of the house and can truly relax and have a fun time.
